Education
Flagler County Public Schools now serve over 12,000 students with two high schools, two middle schools and five elementary schools. If our current high growth rate continues, Flagler will build one school a year for the next fifteen years. In order to ensure a cost effective building program, we have developed prototype schools for elementary and middle schools that will reduce time and cost.
Flagler now offers gifted programs in all of our schools and offers a rigorous academic program that includes many Advanced Placement, Honors and Dual Enrollment classes. In addition, we offer an International Baccalaureate Program for those students focused on high achievement.
Flagler Public Schools focus on a strong and challenging curriculum that will ensure all of our students the opportunity for success. With an emphasis on reading, writing and math, we also offer classes in science, music, art, computers, Spanish and physical education. We also offer many enrichment activities. With our emphasis on student achievement, we are proud that our FCAT scores continue to stay ahead of state averages.
Our Adult and Community
Education Department offers many continuing and community education courses. Course offering booklets are mailed four times a year to every home in Flagler County and classes are held at various times and in various locations to make it as easy as possible for residents to take advantage of the wide range of learning activities. In addition, Adult Ed offers programs for adults with disabilities, afterschool programs and summer camp opportunities.
